SD3618NE BOTANIC ROAD, Churchtown 664-1/7/265 (South East side) 15/11/72 Lamp post in front of Nos.96 AND 98 (Formerly Listed as: BOTANIC ROAD, Churchtown Five old lamps (at corner of Botanic Road and Cambridge Road))

GV II

Lamp post. Probably late C19 or early C20; restored. Cast-iron. It has a pedestal which is square at the base but tapered and chamfered to become octagonal at the top; close horizontal ribbing. Slender octagonal shaft with a flared neck and octagonal ring cap; 4 curved brackets carrying a glazed square lantern with swept roof and finial. One of a set of 5 such lamp posts round the junction of Botanic Road and Cambridge Road.
